About the Business Analysis Certificate
Developed out of a comprehensive course that has been delivered to tens of participants in the past five years, and consistently rated as Excellent, yet continuously improving; this Business Analysis Certificate combines the richness of the original course with practical case studies that ensure that participants fully understand how to apply learned techniques in their day-to-day work, and thus bringing success to their projects and careers.
The certification is a 45-hour program addressing the major aspects of Business Analysis and Requirements Engineering.

Although the above sequence is recommended, courses can be taken in any order, except the BA-01 Fundamentals of Business Analysis course, which is a pre-requisite for all remaining course. Courses can be taken all at once or separate. A certificate of completion is issued after the completion of all courses and the case studies.

The course offers 40 CDUs towards CBAP, and courses content is based on the BABOK version 2.0, and cover the following knowledge areas:
Chapter 2: Business Analysis Planning and Monitoring
Chapter 3: Elicitation
Chapter 4: Requirements Management and Communication
Chapter 6: Requirements Analysis
Chapter 8: Underlying Competencies

Unaddressed Chapters: Chapter 5: Enterprise Analysis & Chapter 7: Solution Assessment and Verification.

BA-01 Fundamentals of Business Analysis - Duration: 9 hours
If you already work as a Business Analyst or plan to switch to this career, this course will help you understand the fundamental principles of professional Business Analysis practices. The course will enable you to distinguish between the recommended Business Analysis practices that lead to success from problematic practices that can jeopardize a project.


BA-02 Requirements Analysis and Communication - Duration: 25 hours
This course is one of our strongest courses. It goes into the details of requirements analysis step-by-step starting from high level business needs all the way down to detailed system requirements and functional design. The course is a hands-on full of practical information, examples, case studies, and tips on how to tweak each technique. Valuable detailed requirements templates, such as Business Requirements, System Requirements, and Impact Analysis templates; and checklists are offered free of charge with this course.

BA-03 Requirements Elicitation - Duration: 4 hours
This course will introduce you to the different direct and indirect techniques that analysts can rely on to ensure requirements are well-gathered and completed. The course draws a comparison between the different techniques and helps you identify when/when not to resort to each technique based on different situations. The course is completed with a make-believe exercise where participants are asked to elicit requirements during an interview.


BA-04 Requirements Planning and Management - Duration: 4 hours
This course is designed for Business Analysts, Senior Business Analysts, Business Analysis Managers or Team Leaders, and Project Managers who are involved in managing requirements throughout a software development project lifecycle.

Every day, projects suffer from challenges and complications related to requirements management not recognizing that the source of these issues and their solutions lie into managing requirements.

While most analysts address requirements engineering from merely the requirements definition perspective, very few understand the paramount importance of managing requirements beginning to end. The course will thus help you fill the gap in your current practice and introduce you to best worldwide practices of requirements management.


BA-05 The Analyst Personality - Duration: 3 hours
This last course offers an introduction to the qualities that professional Business Analysts should develop to support their function and grow in their career. The course is one of the previous participants’ favorite courses the Business Analysis Certification.


OBA-01 Requirements Engineering for Project Scoping - Duration: 30 hours
Scope creeps constitute a common source of anguish in software projects. This course is designed to help you learn the components that need focus during the scoping phase, and the techniques to efficiently and effectively spot them.

The Requirements Verification course will help you understand how to methodologically address a requirements package and positively challenge it to fill gaps and avoid pitfalls.

ABA-01 Building and Leading the BA Center of Expertise - Duration: 18 hours
